VALENTINO RUDOLPH: (1895-1926) Italian actor, a sex symbol of the 1920s. A good large vintage signed and inscribed 10 x 13.5 (25,5 cm x 34 cm) photograph, the image showing The Latin Lover in an early head and shoulders pose. Signed in bold blue fountain pen ink `Rodolfo Valentino´, and inscribed in Italian by Valentino to the lower white border 'A Paravieini, Un salute dalla lontana America´ ("Regards form the far away America"). Annotated in another hand to the verso the date the signed photograph was received, May 1925. Signed photographs of Valentino are rare as a result of his untimely death at the age of 31. Overall age wear with few heavy creases to the photograph, none affecting the inscription or signature. F
