"One more generation and the Hebrew language is dead ..."
Unique composition about the history of the Hebrew language, tracing the usage of the Hebrew language throughout Jewish history, and trying to determine until when Hebrew served as a living language, by Eliezer Ben-Yehudah, 'reviver of the Hebrew language.' The author wrote the book while he was staying in New York, and it is one of the "Introductory Chapters" of the Ben Yehudah Dictionary.
At the end of the introduction, the author writes: "New-York, at the end of the days of exile, the month of Shvat, the second year of the liberation of the Land of Israel by the armies of England with the participation of the Jewish battalions." At the end of the book, the author predicts: "One more generation and the Hebrew language is dead ..."
