Letter from Jerusalem Tzaddik, Rabbi Aryeh Levin.
Signed letter in the hand of Rabbi Aryeh Levin, [1965] [1] leaf. 12.5×16 cm. Letter in the unique hand of Rabbi Aryeh Levin, written during the last years of his life. He asks that his grandson be allowed to remain in yeshiva. Rabbi Aryeh Levin [1885-1969] studied in Volozhin Yeshiva by Rabbi Refael Shapiro and received semicha from Rabbi Chaim Berlin. After the establishment of Israel, he founded the yeshiva, “Beit Aryeh”. Many stories are told and written about his sterling character traits and abundant good deeds. He was called the “Father of the Prisoners” because he walked every Shabbat morning for over twenty five years to visit them in prison. Very fine condition.
