Commission of Inquiry. Full report from the British commission of inquiry in Jerusalem, from October 1929. Tel Aviv [1930]. Seven sections. 100, 68, 88, 190, 96, 120, 175 [1] pages, 22 cm. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book lists a slightly variant pagination. Following the riots of 1929, the British set up a commission of inquiry headed by Sir Walter Shaw. This is the commission’s full report [the unofficial report], seven sections, with a title page for each section. One of the commission’s primary suggestions was to limit Jewish immigration to Palestine. There are other known copies with pictures – but this is a complete copy without pictures. Bound with: Report of the joint Eretz Yisrael- Commission of Inquiry. Jerusalem, Achdut press, Tel Aviv. [1929]. 177 pages. 22 cm. The commission as established ‘in order to clarify ….Eretz Yisrael…its economic conditions and opportunities, in order to make it easier to plan a comprehensive, systematic program for the future building of Eretz Yisrael.
