Manuscript - Early Tiklal for Annual Festivals - Yemen, Late 16h Century - Antique Leather Binding with Buckles - Volume with [194] pages in Yemenite script - prayers for the annual holidays. Single scribal script, for the most part vowelized. Yemen, c. late 16th century. Early manuscripts and  sefarim  wore out over the years due to extensive use. Prayer books were undoubtedly the most essential and well-used of all  sefarim  throughout the generations, so that it is hard to obtain early copies of them. This Tiklal was written in an early text, without the piyyutim  and supplements that became customary over later generations. It includes: The end of Pirkei Avot, prayers and havdalah for Motza'ei Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh, the night of Passover, the Passover Haggadah, the days of Passover, the Shavuot holiday, fasts, Tisha B'Av, Tisha B'Av lamentations, prayer services for Rosh HaShanah, the ten days of repentance, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Hoshanot, piyyutim  for Simchat Torah, the Chanukah rituals, the Bnei Chashmona'im scroll, Purim prayers, selichot  for nights of ashmurot , Birkat HaMazon, and texts of various blessings - blessings over food, spices, seeing sages and kings; blessings on mitzvahs, pidyon haben, separating challah, making a railing, affixing a mezuzah, tzitzit, Shabbat candles, burning chametz , eruvei tavshilin , chatzerot and techumim , Birkat HaErusin . [196] pp. Lacking leaves. Approximately 20 cm. Overall moderate condition. Several leaves have tears with lack and damage to the text (one leaf is lacking about half), with paper completions. Stains, usage marks and wear. Antique leather binding (not the original) with functional buckles. Wear and various blemishes. Professional completion of leather strips in the margins.
