Large Manuscript from the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Isser'l Prosstitz - the Maggid of Pressburg, Disciple of the Chatam Sofer and son of the Ra'ava”d of Pressburg. Some Unprinted - Volume containing close to [100] large handwritten leaves with insights on Chaza”l's aggadahs and the weekly Torah portions as well as on Pirkei Avot by the gaon Kabbalist Rabbi Yisrael (known as Isser'l) Prosstitz, author of Mikveh Yisrael , maggid Meisharim  of the Pressburg community and son of the gaon Rabbi Daniel Prosstitz, who served as Ra'ava”d of Pressburg alongside the Chatam Sofer. Pressburg, 1860-1877. This manuscript was written as an autograph with many marginal supplements, and yet it is beautifully written in clear, upright script and is quite legible. The content of the manuscript, as stated, is insights on aggadot Chaza”l , derashot  on Parashiyot HaTorah,  many of which are dated. The dates of the derashot  cover the entire length of his tenure as maggid meisharim  in Pressburg - and these may be the derashot  he delivered at the main synagogue in Pressburg. Page 25a onward contains elucidations in order from the sixth chapter of Pirkei Avot. Noted on the top of page 10a: ”[My father, the gaon] Rabbi Yisrael Isser'l Prosstitz ztz”l, author of Mikveh Yisrael  on Tractate Avot [here in Pressburg] (this notation is crossed-out). This was apparently noted by his son and successor the gaon Rabbi Daniel Prosstitz, who had this manuscript in his possession. Proof for this is that his son, Rabbi Daniel, writes in the foreword to Mikveh Yisrael that due to lack of finances, he was unable to print the elucidations on the sixth chapter. Some of the manuscript was printed in his sefer   Mikveh Yisrael (Pressburg, 1879 - refer to the attached photocopy) but the majority of it is not printed. The elucidations on Pirkei Avot are unprinted, as they were written after his sefer mikveh Yisrael  was printed. He refers to it in several places in the manuscript (where they do indeed appear). Moderate-fine condition. Aging stains. Minimal breaks in the paper in the margins. Some of the leaves are detached. Antique semi-leather binding.
