Sefer Shu"t Chatam Sofer, Yoreh Deah section, by Rabbeinu Moshe Sofer, father and teacher of the Jewish people. This is the first sefer in the series Shu"t Chatam Sofer. Pressburg, 1841. First edition. Personal copy that belonged to the Gadol HaDor - the Rashkebeha"g, the gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Specktor.


The front and back flyleaves bear many period owners' notations by various writers, attributing the sefer to the manhig hador, Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Specktor. The notations are from the period Reb Yitzchak Elchanan served as rabbi in Novardhok (1851-1854). The notations include: "Belongs to the gaon hagadol hamefursam ... Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Specktor of Novardhok"; "This precious sefer belongs to the rabbi, the gaon, the great light, famous glory of the Jewish people ... light of Israel, the right pillar, the fresh olive, the beautiful fruit, the honorable Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan, av beit din of Novardhok" and many other notations.
