Pair of Volumes of Shulchan Aruch with the Be'er Heitev. Pedigree Copies. Dozens of Important Glosses - Shulchan Aruch, two volumes: Even HaEzer and Choshen Mishpat. Personal copies that belonged to the gaon hageonim Rabbi David Diespeck, author of Pardes David  - one of the leading gedolim  of his generation, and among the five who gave approbations to Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz's  Ya'arot Devash . Approximately [40] handwritten scholarly glosses. * Shulchan Aruch Even HaEzer  - with Be'er Heitev  by Rabbi Yehudah Ashkenazi of Tiktin. Amsterdam, 1753. The author of Pardes David 's signature appears on the protective leaf: ”The youth David son of Rabbi Yoel ztz”l, of Diespeck.” Additional notations that associate the book with him. Handwritten gloss. * Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat  - with Be'er Heitev by Rabbi Moshe Frankfurter. Amsterdam, 1749. Rare first edition of Be'er Heitev by Rabbi Moshe Frankfurter (Stefansky, Sifrei Yessod no. 168). Notations that associate this sefer  with the author of Pardes David and his son, Rabbi Shimon, who was a dayan in Schwarzschild, appear on the protective leaf. There are close to [40] handwritten scholarly glosses in this part. The identity of the writer has not been investigated. The greatness of Rabbi David Diespeck in the eyes of the leaders of his generation can be gleaned from the fact that he was one of the gedolei hador who gave approbations to Sefer Ya'arot Devash  by Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz. (His is the second approbation, immediately following the Sha'agat Aryeh's.) There is also the fact that the renowned gaon Rabbi Betzalel Ranschberg wrote glosses on his sefer , Pardes David , which make up almost an entire work of their own. (Several of these glosses were printed by Rabbi Y. L. Maimon at the beginning of the sefer Pitchei Niddah , and the glosses as a whole were printed by Rabbi Shiloh Raphael, in Sinai , vol. 74, Kislev-Tevet 1973-4.) Even HaEzer: [2], 186 leaf. 18 cm. Identical antique leather bindings, used and blemished. Buckle remnants.
