Important Document Handwritten by the Historic Rabbinic Leader, the Author of Noda BiYehudah - ”A third of the world depends on him”!  (The Besh”t, about the Noda BiYehudah) Rare and important historic letter, entirely [8 lines, approximately 47 words] handwritten and signed by the sacred  gadol hadorot , Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, av beit din  of Prague, author of Noda BiYehudah . Prague, 1775. Historic receipt written by the Noda BiYehudah, to the  parnassim  of the Prague community - for his salary as rabbi of the city. Aside from its segulah value as an invaluable manuscript, a manuscript written by the  gadol hador  himself, to whom all the sages of the generation, even those who disagreed with him, such as the Besh”t, used fabulous expressions unheard of about anyone else (refer to the biography inthe Hebrew catalog text), the letter is full of fascinating historic details that cannot be gleaned from other sources, such as the salary of a  gadol hador  serving in the most prominent rabbinate in all of Europe, and the terms of payment. Text of the manuscript: ” Koitungfuri  [receipt for] 75  zehuvim  received from [the (lay) leadership] of our community Paid to me for my salary as agreed, for a quarter of a year this past February[?] to April [?] Signed on Thursday, 8 Tammuz, 1775 (דהאי שתא תק למד היא chronongram), Prague, HaK' Yechezkel Segal Landau” It is so exciting to hold a document written by the  gadol hadorot  himself - the monumental persona of the Noda BiYehudah himself - for us a halachic opinion or a genius rationale, and suddenly a flesh-and-bones city rabbi discussing the terms of his salary with his employers.
