Lengthy [4-Page] Halachic Letter Handwritten by the Yalkut Sofer of Paks. Derecske, 1889 - Lengthy, beautiful halachic letter on hilchot treifot  entirely handwritten and signed by the gaon Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer, av beit din  of Paks, author of Yalkut Sofer . Sent to the renowned gaon Rabbi Yosef Yuzpa Rosenberg, author of Divrei Yosef  on hilchot treifot . Derecske, 1889. In this letter, the av beit din  of Paks deliberates for the ”prince of Torah, the sacred Rabbi Yosef Yuzpa, av beit din  of Püspökladány and environs” regarding the trustworthiness of a non-Jewish veterinarian (or cure), and the preference of his word over that of common non-Jews. Alongside the Yalkut Yosef's tremendous genius in reason and his proofs from all over Sha”s that stand out in this lengthy letter, the letter also demonstrates his comprehensive expertise in animal diseases and how they are treated, knowledge essential to rabbis in previous generations due to the halachic questions common in those times.
