Sefer Orchot Chaim - halachahs for the entire year by Rabbi Aharon HaKohen of Lunel - a leading Rishon. Florence, 1750. First edition.
First edition of part of the comprehensive work on daily halachah. The author was one of the leading Rishonim. This section is the one that parallels Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim. The other sections were only printed about 150 years later. This work was written just a few years before Arba'ah Turim was written, and there were those who wrote that it was only because of Arba'ah Turim that this work was not accepted as the major work of practical halachah. However, Rabbi Yosef Karo and all other major poskim cite it extensively.
Leading Italian rabbis gave approbations to this work, including: Rabbi Yisrael Binyamin Bassan, Rabbi Yitzchak Lampronti, Rabbi Yitzchak Berachiah Canton and others. The final approbation is from Rabbi Shimshon Chaim Nachmani, author of Zera Shimshon.
