Syria, 19th Century - Manuscript - Large anthology of [232]  bakashot  for Shabbat by leading hymnists of all generations in general, and from Aleppo and Halab in particular. [Syria, 1870-1880]. With an alphabetical index. Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a list of some of the hymnists. The year it was written is not known with certainty: The manuscript mentions Rabbi Menashe Sithon as having passed away, and he passed away in 1876. On the other hand, Rabbi Ezra Attiyah is mentioned as among the living, and he passed away in 1874. Therefore, it appears that it was written c. 1870-1880. 75 leaf, lacking leaves 47-48 that include part of the index. Approximately 19 cm. The first protective leaf bears the signature of Rabbi Ya'akov Kaschi. Overall moderate-fine condition. Usage and aging marks, ink stains. Slight tears and adhesions on several leaves. The last leaves are in moderate condition, with tears and a small lack in the text. Some of the leaves and the sheets are partially detached. Old binding, somewhat worn.
