Yemenite Manuscript - Self-Directed Iggeret Mussar about Avoiding Sichat Chulin in the Synagogue [Early 17th Century] - Yemenite manuscript - short letter about the  sichat chulin  in the synagogues, written by an unknown prominent Torah scholar (see below) for himself. Apparently never printed. ”We, the Jewish people, are guilty of a major transgression, that of irrelevant talk in the synagogue ...” at the end of the iggeret , he writes, ”I, the lowly youth, write a reminder to myself ... perhaps my rigid heart will submit ... May Hashem open our eyes so that we all serve him in truth ... and open our hearts to study His Torah and to assist us to do his will, and bring us back in true repentance ...” Sefarim  mentioned: Avudraham , Kav HaYashar , HaYecholet , Derech Chayim , Rabbeinu Yerucham , HaRav MiPortugal and others. The penmanship was examined by an external expert on Yemenite manuscripts, and he found it to be identical to the penmanship (known from a different source) of Mori Tzalach, grandfather of the Mahari”tz - one of the leading sages of Yemen.
