Fez Beit Din Ledger - [114] Contracts with Hundreds of Signatures for the Leading Dayanim of Morocco - Historic treasure trove: Volume containing [114] financial contracts, with [227] signatures of the most prominent dayanim  of Morocco. [Fez, 1906-1907] There are usually two dayanim signed on each the contracts, from the Fez central beit din . Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a list of the signatories. The ledger naturally contains a treasure trove of historic information about Moroccan Jews: Names of people and their family relationships, their places of residence and various routines. Comments or payment notations appear on the backs of several of the contracts. Approximately [120] leaves, some are written on both sides. 17 cm. Overall moderate-fine condition. Tears (most without lack) at the center of most of the contracts as a sign that the debt has been paid. These tears were taped at the back. One contract is lacking the center of the leaf. Aging stains. Beautiful old binding, well-preserved.
