Fascinating Manuscript - Pitaron Chalomot. [Egypt, C. 1750] - ”One who sees Yishmael son of Avraham - his prayer was heard ... One who sees Pinchas, a wonder was done for him ...” Complete work in manuscript - book on dream resolution attributed to Rav Hai Gaon, by Rabbi Shlomo Almuli. [Egypt, c. 1650.] The book Pitaron Chalomot appeared for the first time by Rabbi Shlomo Almuli in Salonika, c. 1515, and was reprinted many times and translated into several languages. This sefer was printed by Rabbi Shlomo Almuli in three parts: In the first part, the author describes his approach to the gravity and importance of dreams, the second part has a list of the resolutions (the primary part of the book), and the third part contains the halachic significance of the resolutions, and the paths to rectification. This manuscript (like many others), bears the second, interesting part, omitting the scholarly discussions and without mentioning the author's name. This omission created confusion - so in many editions, it is attributed to Rabbi Hai Gaon. For more, refer to Areshet , Part IV (1981) pp. 180-201. The body of the book is divided into five primary chapters: Domem, Tzomeach, Chai, Adam and Elyonim . Each chapter is divided into subchapters, to ensure ease of use. Table of contents at the beginning of the book. [29] leaf, [55] written pages. 15.5 cm. Moderate condition. Worming perforations with light blemishes to the text, some of which are professionally restored. Usage and aging stains. The groups of leaves are not sewn.
