Kabbalistic Manuscript on the Vanquishing Power of Sanctity, Handwritten by the Ben Ish Chai - ”And they plundered Egypt” - Kabbalistic sermon dealing with the exodus from Egypt handwritten by the ”living lion, ” Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim of Baghdad, author of Ben Ish Chai. [Baghdad, 19th century.] The drashah  deals with Kabbalistic topics capable of bringing tremendous wealth, and concludes with the Ben Ish Chai's standard blessing ”May E-l Sh-dai help us, protect us and assist us always ...”  Uncommonly, this blessing appears twice. As is known, all the Ben Ish Chai's manuscripts are used by Oriental Jewry in general and Jews of Iraqi descent in particular, as an expert amulet, tried-and-true, for healing, livelihood and protection.  Along with other sermons by the Ben Ish Chai, this derashah stands out with a unique characteristic: The top of this leaf is the end of a derashah for parashat VaYishlach that deals with Ya'akov's victory over the angel. The rest of the leaf deals with the victory of sanctity over the Sitra Achra . Despite being two entirely different parshiyot , one in Sefer Bereishit and the other from Sefer Shemot - both deal with the same concept.
