Among the most well-known and important halachic works. The commentary was eventually printed in all the major editions of Sh"as and remains the primary commentary on the Ro"sh.
Magnificent copperplate architectural title page - with a picture of a bird at the top (צפור) like the name of the author's wife, Feigaleh Tzipporah. The author writes about his turbulent life on page 148b.
