[3], 82, [1], 25 leaves, 35 cm. Three sections with three title pages. Only one approbation leaf, like some other copies. Owner signature of Rabbi Avraham Abikzer on the title page. Worming holes. Moderate condition.

Rabbi Avraham Abikzer made handwritten elucidations to a number of simanim with comparisons to other editions. Fine-very fine condition.
Rabbi Avraham Abikzer was born in Oran, Algeria in 1866. In addition to his Torah erudition, he established a Talmud Torah for Northwest African children. In 1892, he was sent on a mission to North Africa, and, when he was in the city, was asked to stay in Alexandria. Following the death of Rabbi Eliyahu Bechor Chazan, he was appointed to succeed him as Rabbi of Alexandria. In 1928, he moved to Yerushalayim and served as head of the community of Northwest Africans in the city through his death in 1944.
