Ein Yaakov. Personal Copy of the Baba Sali.
Ein Yaakov on the aggadot of Chazal with Rashi's commentary, Maharsha, and the Chida's Petach Einayim. [Sections 4-5]. Vilna, [1877]. Personal copy of the Baba Sali, in a Moroccan binding from the era, and with a flyleaf from the Casablanca community.
Tractates Sanhedrin-Uktzim. [2], 262,[294] pages 19 cm.
The Baba Sali, Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira ztz"l, studied this volume. His stamp appears on the front flyleaf: ע"ה ישראל אבוחצירא נו"נ לדאמו"ר עט"ר המקובל וכו' המלוב"ן כקש"ת רבינו יעקב אבוחצירא זצ"ל. The Baba Sali then gave this volume as a gift to his devoted talmid, Rabbi Yechye Yiluz. Rabbi Yechye noted the gift and signed on the leaf. The reverse features the signature of Rabbi Avraham Abuchatzeira, apparently a son of the Abir Yaakov. The left corner of the title page features a cropped notation opening with the words ליקבה"ו..ג.ג' עלין... –this apparently was the Baba Sali's written commitment to learn three leaves of this book a day.
Minimal worming holes. Tears in the title page, a number of detached leaves. Poor-moderate condition.
