Babylonian Talmud with commentaries. Zhitomir, 1858-1864, printed by the Slavuta rabbi's grandsons, Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira. Complete Sha"s printed over the course of seven(!) years, with the original letter bindings (except for one volume).
This Sha"s also includes the Ri"f, printed and sold separately and not found in most copies.
The Shapira family's press in Slavuta was shut down because of informants. It was reestablished in Zhitomir in 1847 by the rabbi of Slavuta's grandsons, Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, and it operated there until 1864. The Sha"s was printed in yet a third edition at this press, with many supplements. The page layout [צורת הדף] is one of the most magnificent until that time. Some of the tractates have the work Meir Netiv by Rabbi Shabtai HaKohen added at the back. The Chazon Ish was known to have especially cherished using the Zhitomir Sha"s due to the Meir Netiv commentary that does not appear in other editions.
The books printed at Slavuta and Zhitomir are known in Chassidic communities to bear special sanctity and segulah. The printing tools and types were even immersed in a mikveh before the beginning of the printing process. It is known that possession of books from the Slavuta and Zhitomir presses is a segulah for protection of one's home and for success.
These volumes are all from one source, except for one volume.
[20] volumes, 38 cm. Lacking the main title page in one volume. With this exception, the volumes are fully complete. Fine-very fine condition. Blemishes, tears with lack and mold in several volumes. Original leather bindings with gilt imprints, rubbed and worn in the margins. Defects in [4] bindings. The spines are reinforced with leather sheets, from an earlier period (several decades after the printing).

Detailed description:
ש"ס שלם ב 20 כרכים. (מה שנמכר בווינרס לאחרונה היה 17 כרכים בלבד).
הכול בשלימות מלבד השער הראשי (הראשון) של כרך ר"ה-יומא-סוכה.
המסכתות כרוכות ביחד עם הרי"ף על המסכת. הרי"ף נדפס בנפרד ושווק על פי רוב בנפרד. ברוב הכרכים המצויים בשוק אין רי"ף.
הש"ס כרוך בכריכות עור מקוריות בלויות ממקור אחד (למעט כרך אחד) עם הטבעה מוזהבת, דהויה. השדרות מחוזקות ביריעות עור, בתקופה מוקדמת (כמה עשרות שנים לאחר ההדפסה). כל הכריכות בלויות ומשופשפות, עם שריטות ופגמים קלים אופייניים.
14 כרכים במצב טוב מאוד.
בחמישה כרכים פגמים שונים. . כרך נוסף הגיע ממקור אחר.
1 - שבועות ע"ז - קרע חסר בשער הראשון, עם חסרון במסגרת, ללא פגיעה בטקסט. כתם פטריה קל מאוד בפינת- כ[20-30] הדפים האחרונים.
2 - קידושין - השדרה פגומה.
3 - חולין - כתמי עובש ב[40] הדפים האחרונים. הכריכה האחורית פגומה.
4 - עירובין - קרע חסר ב[15] הדפים הראשונים, עם חסרון טקסט מועט במספר דפים. כריכה קדמית מנותקת.
5 - זבחים מנחות - כתמי עובש ב[30] הדפים האחרונים. הכריכה האחורית פגומה.
6 - ר"ה יומא סוכה - חסר דף השער הראשון, יש את שלושת השערים האחרים. כריכה לא מקורית.
