Chiddushei HaRa"n, First Edition, with the First of Rabbi Akiva Eiger's Printings in its Margins
Chiddushei Rabbeinu Nissim Girodni, known as the Ra"n, on Tractate Bava Metzia. For the first time, from a manuscript that was hidden by Rabbi Zavel [Eiger] a relative of Rabbi Akiva Eiger's. With an approbation by Rabbi Akiva Eiger, who indeed wrote that this manuscript is the Ra"n's. First edition.
This book is adorned with scholarly comments (printed in square brackets) by Rabbi Akiva Eiger. At the end of the book, there are [16] leaves with a 10-leaf compilation of Torah novellae by Rabbi Akiva Eiger, followed by Torah thoughts from the gaon Rabbi Leib Eiger, rabbi of Halberstadt. This is followed by Torah novellae from the gaon Rabbi Zavel Eiger, rabbi of Braunschweig. These are the first Torah novellae ever submitted for print by Rabbi Akiva Eiger.
