Sefer Shai LaMoreh - Torah essays and thoughts composed with love and appreciation for the rabbi, the gaon of the Jewish people, Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer ... on the occasion of his 70th birthday ... from his friends and disciples. Berlin, 1890.
Very rare book. Almost certainly printed in a very small number, for the honoree's friends and disciples. This book is considered the first "jubilee" book ever. For more about this topic, refer to Tuviah Pershal's article "Chachmei Yisrael V'Chagigei Yovlot V'Yom Huledet" (Ma'amarei Tuviah Part II, p. 397).
The book is partly in Hebrew and partly in German, with important articles from leading rabbis and scholars, including: Rabbi David Tzvi Hoffman, Rabbi M. Tz. Lerner, R' Avraham Berliner and others. The articles are a copy from the Hessen community's book of regulations by Dr. Yehudah Munk, and a sermon on those who mock Torah, attributed to the Ro"sh by Shzch"h, and many more.
