Sefer Chemdat Tzvi - novellae on many tractates by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch, av beit din of Lokatsh. Mohylew [Mahilyow], R' Yitzchak Madpis of Shklov Press, 1825. Only edition. Printed in only 450 copies. Signatures, notations and glosses from the period of printing appear on the flyleaves and along the length of the book.
This is the only book that was printed in the city of Mohylew, on the Dnieper River, in Belarus (not to be confused with the city Mohilev, on the Dniester in Ukraine).
In his foreword, the author's son relates the major difficulties involved in printing this book, and that due to budgetary restrictions, only 450 copies were printed.
The book is adorned by important approbations from the gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot, Rabbi Avraham Abele, ra'ava"d of Vilna, and Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Zamoshtch.
