The First Book by Rabbi Akiva Eiger. First Edition, from the Author's Lifetime. Handwritten Gloss

Teshuvot Rabi Akiva Eiger, Sefer Rishon. Several spectacular illustrations along the length of the book. First edition in the author's lifetime. Warsaw, 1835. Handwritten scholarly gloss on page 112b.

First edition (!) of the first book (!) by the gaon of geonim, Rabbi Akiva Güns Eiger - the symbol of Jewish genius and understanding whose books are an inalienable asset of Jewish literature and considered among the most important books of halachic literature of all time.

This book was edited by Rabbi Akiva Eiger's sons, the geonim Rabbi Shlomo and Rabbi Avraham, who begged him to let them print his responsa. Rabbi Akiva Eiger himself carefully reviewed the entire book and arranged the "Table of Errata" at the end.

In the book's introduction, the sons printed letters written by Rabbi Akiva Eiger with detailed instructions regarding its printing: Omission of titles, omission of "my disciple" and also to print to book on "beautiful paper with beautiful black ink and well-formed letters, because in my opinion, the mind is enthused and relaxed, and concentration is heightened by studying from a beautiful elegant book.
