Aggadic Novellae Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv with a Part that Wasn't Printed. "... Before the Elections, they Promise. Afterwards, they do Nothing ..."

This leaf, written on both sides, bears three passages, with Aggadic novellae handwritten by the posek hador, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. These written words were spoken before the students and members of Tiferet Bachurim c. 1950.

On the first leaf, there is a (relatively) lengthy elucidation on the verse in Tehillim "Who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war." This elucidation was printed in Rabbi Elyashiv's lifetime in the book Divrei Aggadah (Jerusalem, 2005), p. 54. On the second page of this leaf, on the top half, there is an elucidation printed on the words of Tikkunei HaZohar stating that tefilin shel rosh and tefilin shel yad parallel Zachor and Shamor. This elucidation was printed there on pp. 328-329. Later in the page, there is an elucidation on the verse in Tehillim "Let us cut their cords" that is explained by Chaza"l regarding tefilin. This elucidation as well is printed there, on page 332.

At the end of the first passage of the second page, there are several lines that were omitted from the book, and apparently not printed. The gaon Rabbi Shalom Yosef Elyashiv writes: "Today, everyone without exception celebrates his bar mitzvah, delivers his speech and promises ... mountains and hills that he will be a mitzvah-observant Jew, mimicking the political wisdom across the world of those who wish to be elected to parliament before the elections when they promise much but afterwards, they do nothing..."
