Sacred and Awesome! The Shofar that Belonged to the Admo"r Rabbi Shimon of Yaroslav, Leading Disciple of the Chozeh

He will sound a large shofar and a still small voice will be heard

Shofar blown by the Admo"r Rabbi Shimon of Yaroslav - one of the most prominent Admo"rim of the generations and disciple of R' Elimelech of Lizhensk and the Chozeh of Lublin. Rare item that belonged to a tzaddik, with value that is hard to overestimate.

This shofar of distinguished pedigree was blown in the Yaroslav community until the Holocaust, and it is accepted that this shofar was blown by Rabbi Shimon of Yaroslav (refer to the included confirmation). Clearly, due to the immensity of the segulah hidden in blowing the Yaroslav Rebbe's shofar, the community did not want to exchange it under any circumstances for any other shofar.

The community's shofar-blower before the Holocaust was Rabbi Chaim Pfeifer. He rescued this distinguished shofar and brought it to the Land of Israel. Once there, he was in close contact with the chief rabbi of Akko, the gaon Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Zalmanowitz, one of the elder Sanz Chassidim, whom he knew from the period in which he served as rabbi of the survivors in the DP camp in Bergen Belson. Rabbi Zalmanowitz was one of the major agunah-releasers after the Holocaust.

As the shofar blower's life neared its conclusion, he summoned Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Zalmanowitz and gave him this sacred shofar, which he risked his life to save. He told Rabbi Zalmanowitz in detail about the background of this distinguished shofar and its great importance to the Yaroslav community, where it is accepted that the Rebbe Rabbi Shimon of Yaroslav himself would blow it. The gaon Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Zalmanowitz wrote down the story of the shofar-blower and the distinguished lineage of this sacred shofar (on his official personal stationery and with his full signature. The original letter will be given to the purchaser.)

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Rebbe Rabbi Shimon of Yaroslav and of Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Zalmanowitz.

"The Holy One, Blessed Be He said ... Recite before me on Rosh HaShanah Malchuyot, Zichronot and Shofarot ... so that your memories will arise before me for the good. How? With the shofar." Not for nothing is the shofar-blowing considered the highlight of the high holidays. Stories of tzaddikim's lives are full of tales of how rabbinic leaders would cry rivers of tears right before the shofar-blowing, which would be carried out with the most lofty Kabbalistic intentions. The judgement was sweetened through the sweet sound of the shofar, and this shofar was active for many good, sweet years for the Jewish people. Here is the shofar blown by a unique tzaddik among the tzaddikim throughout the generations - as described in the included confirmation - used for many years for his community and the entire Jewish people.

Ram's horn, bent, medium size, approximately 30 cm. Easy to blow.

Fine condition: 2-cm. long crack along the wide opening of the shofar. The shofar's kashrut has not been examined.

Signed confirmation enclosed from the chief rabbi of Akko, Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Zalmanowitz about the shofar's authenticity and its pedigree. We will emphasize that this is a rare confirmation due to the Torah status of its writer, whose authority was invoked for releasing hundreds and thousands of agunahs after Holocaust!
