Rare Blessings Handwritten and Signed by the Sar HaTorah, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky

"To be blessed by this [time] and the next [time], with spiritual joy and goodness, and his reward from Heaven is double."

 (From Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky's blessings)

Lengthy letter of recommendation for the Kehillot Ya'akov yeshivah founded by and named after the Steipler. Letter signed by the rosh yeshivah, the gaon Rabbi Chaim Kluft, son of Kabbalist Rabbi Yoel Kluft, and the Steipler's grandson. Bnei Brak, 1989.

Rare and lengthy addition handwritten by the Steipler's son, Sar HaTorah Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky. He blesses - apparently also due the the mitzvah of honoring one's father - exceptional blessings: "To be blessed by this [time] and the next [time], with spiritual joy and goodness, and his reward from Heaven is double."

This letter, as mentioned, is rare in its length, handwritten by Rabbi Chaim, compared to his familiar letters that are generally only one or two words. (Sometimes those words are not even written by Rabbi Chaim himself, but by members of his family, in penmanship similar to Rabbi Chaim's.) This letter is relatively early, written by Rabbi Chaim himself, before the advent of his "court" and copious assistants, and apparently out of respect for his father, gave this letter priority and wrote it himself.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Shmaryahu Chaim Kanievsky.

[1] leaf paper, 21x28 cm. Official stationery. Letter of recommendation for the Steipler's yeshivah, with approximately 70 words in Rabbi Chaim's handwriting in its margins and with his signature.
