Set of Machzorim. Jozefow-Slavuta, [1848]
Set of prayer books according to the customs of Poland, Reisen, Lithuania, Pihem, Mehrin for Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and the three pilgrimage holidays. Jozefow, 1848.
The prayer book was printed with the letters that were previously used in Slavuta. There is an opinion that after the Slavuta press closed, the Shapira family continued printing in Jozefow until they received authorization to establish their press in Zhitomir. The title page resembles those printed in Slavuta and the name of the book and location of print is in red ink.
Two volumes. [1], 189: [1] 9 11-178 leaves. Volume one - 23 cm. Volume 2 – 25 cm.
Different bindings. Stickers reinforcing the title page and first leaves, a few worming holes without loss. Fine condition.
