Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Yehudah Berlin - the Netzi"v [1816-1893] served for forty years as the head of the famous yeshivah, 'the mother of yeshivahs, ' - in Volozhin, and was one of the most renowned rabbinic leaders in Eastern Europe. He authored Ha'amek She'elah, Ha'amek Davar, Shu"t Meishiv Davar and more.
