"Economy and life" - Russian, formerly Soviet central (all-Union) weekly newspaper that covers issues of economics and economic policy in Russia and the world, explains the application of legislation in various areas of law, corporate governance, financial management and enterprise economics, taxation, accounting accounting.

The first issue of the newspaper, which was named "Economic Life" when it was created, was published on November 6, 1918. It was the first daily newspaper in Soviet Russia dedicated exclusively to the coverage and study of the country's economy, the strengthening of economic ties, as well as issues that daily faced economic workers.

With the formation of the USSR, the newspaper turned from a republican to an all-union one.

The newspaper explained the economic policy of the state, commented on laws and regulations, in the conditions of a planned economy, explained to managers and specialists of enterprises in various industries what to do at a given time.

The newspaper published articles by well-known scientists and current leaders of state authorities, economic managers, employees of economic services of enterprises, detailed coverage of the successful experience of enterprises. In 1931, "Economic Life" became the organ of the State Planning Commission and the People's Commissariat for Finance.
