Group of <<eleven>> printed pamphlets on Abraham Lincoln by <<Emanuel Hertz.>> Texts in Hebrew, English, Arabic, Armenian, German, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish.

Original printed wrappers. 8vo.
(New York): 1909-27
Many of these pamphlets are transcripts and translations of Hertz’s radio address “Abraham Lincoln - The Seer” delivered on Station WOR over the years 1924-26. Included is a Hebrew prayer (with English translation) for the centennial celebration of the birth of Lincoln, “The Preserver of the Union, Liberator of Millions of Slaves” held at the Chicago Hebrew Institute. Emanuel Hertz (1870-1940), brother to the Chief Rabbi of the British Empire Joseph H. Hertz, assembled what was at the time the largest private collection on Abraham Lincoln, and wrote several books on his subject, of which he was considered an authority. Hertz was also an evangelist for maintaining Lincoln’s memory and his radio addresses and pamphlets for a multilingual audience show his method for inculcating the greatness of Lincoln among the general public.
