Yitav Panim – Signature of His Great-Grandson Rabbi Naftali Chaim of Görlitz – Important Signed Gloss
Yitav panim. Chust, [1912]. By Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum author of "Yitav Lev" of Siget (1808-1883). First section. With an important introduction by his grandson, Rabbi Moshe David Teitelbaum, explaining why the author's name was published in this second edition although he chose not to publish it in the first edition, which was printed during his lifetime.
Before us is a special copy from which his great-grandson, Rabbi Naftali Chaim of Görlitz had studied, with his handwritten signature.
Appearing on the title page of the book is the signature: "I have bought this from my fortune to honor my God, the young Naftali Chaim Halberstam of Görlitz".
Appearing on one of the leaves is a scholarly signed gloss.
Rabbi Naftali Chaim was born in 1885 to his father Rabbi Elisha Halberstam Av Beit Din of Görlitz. He was the grandson of Rabbi Baruch Halberstam, Rebbe and Av Beit Din of Görlitz and the great-grandson of the 'Divrei Chaim' of Sanz. He was Av Beit Din of Görlitz in his father's lifetime. Was a Gabai of Kollel Galicia in Jerusalem. Was exiled to Siberia where he died in 1944.
Good condition.
