"ʼibrīq ʽarāʼis", a jug, decorated with spouts and a dove (for good luck). [Syria or Palestine, the 20th century?].
Unglazed black clay.
A jug with a high neck, shaped like a dove close to its rim as a sign of good luck. The jug has four handles decorated with spouts and eight additional spouts – six of them are "blind" and two are functional. It is the custom for the bride and groom to drink together from the functional spouts. Flowers and candles are placed in the "blind" spouts.
Height: approx. 45cm. good condition. Blemishes and minor stains.
