Likkutei Shoshanim by Rabbi Moshe of Saworan. First Print. Copy which Belonged to Rabbi Shmuel Heller
Likkutei Shoshanim al HaTorah - Chassidic essays "from the pious and ascetic gaon Rabbi Moshe Tzvi of Saworan zlh"h" - the Admo"r Rabbi Moshe Tzvi of Saworan. First edition. Lemberg, 1872. The copy which belonged to Rabbi Shmuel Heller, rabbi of Safed, with his signature on the title page.
Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Gutterman of Sarowanֲ was the primary disciple of Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibuzh, who said about him, "If I had a minyan of disciples like R' Moshe Tzvi, it would be easy for me to bring mashiach." He had much influence over thousands of Chassidim.
Rabbi Shmuel Heller [1803-1884] was a rabbi and the leader of the Ashkenazic community in Safed for over forty years. He was a native of Galicia. Before they ascended to the Land of Israel, his grandfather, Rabbi Avraham Peretz, was considered one of the Seer of Lublin's closest associates, and this fact allowed for meetings between his grandson and the Chozeh, Rabbi Ya'akov Yitzchak Horowitz. Rabbi Shmuel held an extremely central role in the leadership of the Jewish community of Safed. And after the passing of his teacher, Rabbi Avraham Dov of Ovrutch, author of Bat Ayin, in 1840, Rabbi Shmuel Heller became the top figure in the community's leadership until his own passing. He was also close to the leading tzaddikim in the Diaspora, who placed much faith in his leading the Safed community. His books: Derech HaNesher, Sinai 1929. Kevod Melachim - about burning clothes on Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai's yahrzeit, Jerusalem, 1874; Refuot V'Segulot, Jerusalem 1907.
