Tractate Megillah. Dessau, 1742. Uncommon Tractate
Tractate megillah with commentaries and the Rash"a's novellae. Dessau, at the press of R' Eli' ... from the family of the great and renowned gaon Rabbi Moshe Isserlis (Ram"a). 1742. Printed on its own and not as part of a Sha"s.
On the title page: "Made as a small volume so that a person can carry it in his coat pocket, and look into it even as he travels on the road ... the only tractate that was printed in Dessau.
Every two pages comprise one page of the usual editions. Chiddushei HaRashb"a appear on leaves 33-44.
Uncommon tractate. Haberman, in his article on the printing of the Talmud, writes that this tractate is found only in the Frankfurt library.
[62], 33-44, [1] leaf, 21 cm.
Fine condition. Aging stains. Tears in the initial leaves in the lower margins without damage to text. Page 5a has blemishes to isolated words in the words of the Tosafot. Old binding.
