Illustrated Haggada (Ladino) – Venice, 1739 – Variant
Passover Haggada in Hebrew with translation in the language of Sefardim, with commentary of Rabbi Yitzchak Abarbanel. Venice, [1739-1740].
This haggada was printed in three editions: in Italian, in Spanish (Ladino) and in the language of Ashkenasim (German). This is the edition with Ladino translation. The title page was partially printed in red ink. A very fancy haggada, every page has decorations, frames and many drawings.
24 leaves. 32.5 cm. Fair-poor condition, wear and tear with damage to text and paper pasting. Stains and mildew stains. Detached leaves and cover. Signatures of members of the Rachmi family.
Variant – on colophon on last page: "By David ben Rafael Chaim Bo'ino, in 1739". [Most copies with different printing colophon and changes on last two leaves. This copy matches the rare copy of N.
