Snuff Box for Tobacco with an Anti-Semitic Relief – Alsace, 18th century
Wooden snuff box for tobacco, with an anti-Semitic relief on the lid. [Alsace, 18th cent.].
Carved rosewood.
On the lid of the box appear figures of three Jewish merchants, depicted in a ludicrous way.
Length: 6.5 cm, width: 10.5 cm, height: 2.5 cm. Good condition
Such a box is in the collections of the Jewish Museum of London.
