Esther scroll. Sephardic script. [turn of 19th-20th century].
Ink on vellum, copper and silver handle.
Esther scroll, 43 lines per column, rolled on a handle. The handle consists of two combined parts. The center is made of copper; the upper part is European, topped with an eagle with spread wings; the lower part is, most probably, from an Oriental handle, engraved.
Height of vellum: 40 cm, height of handle: 60 cm. Good condition, some unraveled threads between sheets, some restorations of vellum, spotting. Attached to handle with adhesive tape.
