A Soviet Propaganda (Agitprop) Polychrome Ceramic Cup and Saucer, Designed by Wassily Kandinsky, Saint Petersburg, The Imperial Porcelain Factory 1914, The State Porcelain Factory 1921
Description: A glazed, polychrome ceramic cup and saucer, hand painted with a design by Kandinsky. Inscribed in Russian over glazed "after a drawing by Kandinsky". Marked overglaze with the Imperial Porcelain Factory mark dating 1914 and a hammer and sickle and cog mark dating 1921 and numbered 856/15-C (on the underside of the cup and saucer).
Cup diameter: 10 cm; cup height: 6 cm
Saucer diameter: 14 cm
