The rabbi writes in his letter, with his humility of ingratitude, and asks Rabbi Schwab to forgive him, and adds that he will not forgive himself for this ingratitude. Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler (1859-1944) is considered one of the greatest moralists of the Kalm method in the 20th century. Served as rabbi in England and as spiritual supervisor at Ponevezh Yeshiva, author of "The Letter from Elijah".
Rabbi Moshe Schwab, (1917-1979), mashgiach of the Gateshead yeshiva and one of the greatest rabbis in England. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and at the age of 16 went to Lithuania to study at the Kamenitz Yeshiva, where he studied at the Baranowitz and Mir yeshivas. After a short period of time, he was forced to leave the country because he was a German citizen, then he sailed to England for his parents' home and entered the yeshiva of Rabbi Moshe Schneider in London. In 1942 he married the daughter of Rabbi David Bedil, one of the founders of the Gateshead community, and joined the founding group of "Kollel HaAvrahimim" founded by Rabbi Dessler in Gateshead in 1947. In 1947 he joined the spiritual management of the Beit Yosef Yeshiva in Gateshead, Of awe and morality. From his talks, the book "Arishim Lev" was published.
