Signature and Manuscript of Kabalist Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Slatky
Two books with glosses by kabalist Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Slatky of Jerusalem. * Luach Olamit, Jerusalem 1954. The title page bears the signature of Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Slatky and page 7 has a halachic comment in his hand. Fine condition. * Minchat Erev HaShalem. Jerusalem, 1955. Stamps of Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Slatky. On pages 204-205, comments in his hand. Very fine condition. Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Slatky was born in 1899. He was the Rosh Yeshiva of the Sha’ar Shamayim Kabalistic yeshiva, a Torah genius and noted kabalist. He was the son of Rabbi Aharon Slatky. Rabbi Dovid Beharan learned with him b’chavrusa, after the death of the Ba’al HaLeshem – his previous learning partner. He authored many works; “Yad Eliyahu” an index to the Arizal’s kabala; “Aderet Eliyahu” on the Zohar; and “Chasdei Dovid” on halacha.
