Stamps and Glosses in the Hand of the First Admor of Stropkov
Pri Megadim. Stamps and glosses in the hand of Admor Avraham Shalom of Stropkov. Stamps: ה”ק שלום הלברשטאם בן אאמו”ר הרה”צ משינאווע זצ”ל. With six glosses in his hand, including lengthy ones. Admor Avraham Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov [1857-1940] was the son of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova, the eldest son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He was the rabbi of Stropkov and established the Stropkov chassidut. Many travelled to see him and tens of thousands attended his funeral. The name Avraham was added when he was sick. His Torah was printed in the “Darchei Shalom” series. The endpapers bear additional signatures from the Admor’s family, including Rabbi Avraham Naftali Halberstam, son of Admor Menachem Mendel of Stropkov [son of Admor Avraham Shalom of Stropkov], and the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Satmar, he was killed in the Holocaust. Refer to: Wunder, Galicia b, 409. The book is in moderate-poor condition.
