He later moved over to the Haskala movement. He published articles regarding Jewish sages and the Jews of Russia, taught in Rasein, and moved to Berlin where he taught in the university. He authored many books and articles, and tutored the children of Baron Joseph Ginzburg in Paris. He founded a scientific library that contained many important manuscripts.
