Biographical work on R. Refoel Ha’Cohen Hamburger (1722-1803), Chief Rabbi of the famous combined communities of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbeck, known by the acronym A’HU. Edited by his son in-law, R. Eliezer Katzenelebogen.
This book is an important source of the history of communal life and Yeshivos in the 18th century, as R. Refoel was a pupil of both the Gaon of Vilna and the Sha’agas Aryeh and a contemporary of R. Chaim of Volozhin.
