[PERPIGNAN - CHOLLET]: Godefroy Ernest de Chollet (1722-1792) French General. Imprisoned in 1792, accused of collaboration when trying to surrender and give the Perpignan citadelle control to Spanish. Died shortly after in prison. D.S., Chollet, one page, oblong 4to, Perpignan, 14th November 1791, in French. The partially printed attractive document being a 20th regiment leave given to Feriolle Lasalle, bearing an ornated vignette, and reporting on the officer«s years services. Signed by Chollet in his capacity as Lieutenant General and Commandant of the 10th division to the upper right corner, also signed by Charles Etienne Desbordes (1736-1793) French Colonel of the 20th Regiment. Also signed by six additional 20th regiment officers and by the war Commissar De la Chapelle. The document bears a red wax seal in very fine condition to the upper left corner showing the regiment coat of arms. Folded, with very small overall, minor age wear. About VG £100-150
