Twelve Biblical subjects album, 40x29.5 cm, published by Abel Pann Art Publishing Society, Jerusalem

Abel Pann (1883, Kraslavka, Russia - December 1963. Jerusalem) was a Jewish painter who worked mainly in Israel and in Israel.
His father, Nachum Feferman, was a rabbi and a Rosh Yeshiva, and Penn received religious education in the room. He bought the foundations of drawing and painting when he was twelve years old with the painter Yehuda Penn of Vitebsk, who was also the teacher of Marc Chagall and Osip Zadkin.
During the war, Penn devoted his energies to posters and drawings that encouraged fighting and documented the horrors of the German occupation. Particularly notable was a series of fifty paintings depicting the war on the eastern front, where the Russians were defeated by the Germans and hundreds of thousands of Jews were deported eastward. With a series of drawings depicting the disturbances against the Jews during the occupation in the East, Penn traveled to the United States in 1917, where he achieved considerable success and was defined as "the greatest Jewish painter" of the period.
