Purchasing jewelry and gems: The auction house provides a description of the diamonds and gems to the best of its understanding and based on the knowledge and experience of the auction house experts. However, the auction house does not undertake to accurately describe the items in terms of stone size, color, level of cleanliness, condition (including description of defects) and whether it has undergone treatment or painting and the buyer is responsible for inspecting the diamonds and gems before sale. For the avoidance of doubt, no option will be given to cancel the purchase of jewelry, diamonds and gems or return them after purchase, even if the description does not match the item.


In this auction like the previous auctions, unsold items are not offered for direct sale after auction ends! please bid and participate during the auction!


The sale commission is 20% + VAT on the commission only. in a week time from the auction.


A fee of 5% will be added to late payments.


The dollar exchange rate for this sale is: $=3.25 shekel.


New customers who have participated a few times in auctions will usually be approved with a limit on the amount you can offer at least initially. If you want to raise the amount or remove the limit, you are welcome to contact us by phone.


In this auction to Israeli clients, payment will be possible directly upon completion of the auction. You will receive the invoice for payment and then you can choose the requested shipping method.

Please note the different costs: courier delievery as well as the different registered shipping costs depending on the weight.

If you are unsure about the shipping cost (registered upon weight or special complicated/breakable items) please contact us before making the payment.


Buyers from abroad will receive an invoice within a business day from the end of the auction including the shipping cost for the items purchased and will be able to pay online by credit card.

Shippments can be choosen in one of forward options:

2-5 Kilo cost 27 NIS.

5-10 kilo cost 35 NIS

10-20 kilo cost 42 NIS

Courier delivery of the Israeli post in the cost of 60 NIS regardless of weight up to 20 kg (only in Israel)

We try to get the deliveries out of the gallery within two business days at the latest. The delivery time of the items depends on the Israeli post and global post work. Each buyer who pays on delivery, will receive a detailed email with the tracking number and a link to the tracking on the mail site accordingly.

In cases of complecated items and fragile items, the auction house may take an additional cost to ensure the proper packaging of the items.


With certain items, large or particularly complex items, the buyer will have to coordinate collection from the Auction House.


About the vat, buyers from abroad can request to remove the vat with scan of their passport only! (Although it is advisable to avoid since the VAT paid on the invoice is on the commission and is not on the items themselves and therefore it is not legally eligible for remove).

Andreas David Mordtmann (February 11, 1811 in Hamburg – December 30, 1879) was a German orientalist and diplomatic representative of the Hanseatic cities in the Ottoman Empire.
Orphaned at an early age, Mordtmann had to give up his schooling at the Hamburg Gelehrtenschule prematurely for financial reasons. He had his first jobs as a teacher before the Hamburg syndic Karl Sieveking, who was his patron, got him a job at the city library. For his knowledge of the Orient, he was finally awarded a doctorate from the University of Kiel in 1845. phil. PhD. In the same year, Mordtmann became a representative of the interests of the Hanseatic cities at the Sublime Porte in Constantinople via the Spanish legation. There he held various diplomatic duties until 1859, when he finally entered Turkish service as a commercial judge. During his time in the Orient, Mordtmann also dealt scientifically with the history of the country and wrote articles on numismatics and inscriptions. From 1869 he was a corresponding member of the Royal Bavarian Academy of Sciences, from 1871 a corresponding member of the Greek Philological Society in Constantinople.
The orientalist and diplomat Johann Heinrich Mordtmann, born in Pera near Constantinople in 1852, was his son.

Andreas David Mordtmann (* 11. Februar 1811 in Hamburg; † 30. Dezember 1879) war ein deutscher Orientalist und diplomatischer Vertreter der Hansestädte im osmanischen Reich.
Leben
Der früh verwaiste Mordtmann musste seine schulische Ausbildung an der Hamburger Gelehrtenschule aus finanziellen Gründen vorzeitig abbrechen. Erste Anstellungen hatte er als Lehrer, bevor der Hamburger Syndicus Karl Sieveking als sein Förderer ihm eine Stelle bei der Stadtbibliothek verschaffte. Für seine Kenntnis des Orients wurde er schließlich von der Universität Kiel 1845 zum Dr. phil. promoviert. Noch im gleichen Jahr wurde Mordtmann über die spanische Gesandtschaft Interessenvertreter der Hansestädte bei der Hohen Pforte in Konstantinopel. Dort nahm er bis 1859 verschiedene diplomatische Aufgaben wahr, bis er schließlich als Handelsrichter in türkische Dienste trat. Während seiner Zeit im Orient befasste sich Mordtmann auch wissenschaftlich mit der Geschichte des Landes und verfasste Beiträge zur Münz- und Inschriftenkunde. Ab 1869 war er korrespondierendes Mitglied der Königlich Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, ab 1871 korrespondierendes Mitglied der Griechischen philologischen Gesellschaft zu Konstantinopel.
Der 1852 in Pera bei Konstantinopel geborene Orientalist und Diplomat Johann Heinrich Mordtmann war sein Sohn.
