An interesting letter from the Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock
A letter handwritten and signed by the Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock to his nephew Rabbi Dr. Yisrael Weinstock, the Jerusalem Kabbala researcher and head of the religious department of the Jewish National Fund. 1971.
In the letter, the Kabbalist thanks Dr. Weinstock for the congratulatory letter he had sent regarding his book 'Siddur Ha'Geonim V'Hamekubalim'. "His wonderful words are most beloved and dear to me."
At the end of the letter, the Kabbalist recalls: "Today … we will celebrate the 'Pidyon HaBen' [Redemption] of my beloved great-grandsons. I remember when I was Bar-Mitzva that I saw in the book of the Chida about the famous saying that you earn 84 days of fasts if you partake in a Pidyon HaBen meal and it is implied in [a certain] verse… and when I say this to others, they ask me to show them where the Chida wrote this." The Kabbalist asks his nephew if he knows the source.
