Two letters of the Rebbe of Slonim-Tel Aviv to his brother-in-law, the Gerrer Rebbe, the author of 'Beit Yisrael'
Two letters of the Rebbe of Slonim-Tel Aviv, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Weinberg, to his brother-in-law, the Grand Rabbi Yisrael Alter of Ger, the author of 'Beit Yisrael'.
The first letter is from 2.9.1956 and the second from 15.9.1963. In both letters, the Rebbe of Slonim asks the Gerrer Rebbe to pray for him and his family members (he specifies their names) on Rosh HaShana.
Grand Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Weinberg of Slonim-Tel Aviv (1898-1978), was the son of Grand Rabbi Yisaschar Dov and the grandson and student of the Maharash of Slonim and [student of] Rabbi Shalom Perlov of Koidanov. He was appointed Rebbe in 1928. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel.
Grand Rabbi Yisrael Alter of Ger (1895-1977), the son of the Rebbe of Ger who authored the 'Imrei Emet'. In 1940 he was saved from the Holocaust and immigrated to Israel together with his father; his wife and sons, however, remained in Poland and were murdered by the Nazis. He was appointed Rebbe in 1948. One of the heads of Moetset Gdolei Ha'Torah (Torah Giants Council). His writings were gathered in the book 'Beit Yisrael'.
Excellent condition (both letters).
These letters, in which a Rebbe asks another Rebbe to pray for him, are most unique. Rare!
