OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS FROM THE 1ST AND 2ND MACCABIAH GAMES

Two letter from the Maccabiah management in its early years:
1. First Maccabiah, 1932 – Letter, dated 25.3.1932, addressed to the schools invited to take part in the Maccabiah. The organizers announce, on behalf of the Maccabiah secretariat, the activity hours, entrance order and regulations into the stadium during the days of the tournaments.
The top of the page reads: “The first Maccabiah 1932, under the gracious auspices of his excellence the High Commissioner in Israel, Lt. General Sir Arthur Wauchope.”
2. 2nd Maccabiah, 1935 – Letter, dated 29.3.1935, by Yehoshua Aluf and Zvi Nishri, of the Maccabiah management, to the management of participating schools. The letter details the participation of the pupils in games, and the rehearsals toward them.
The top of the page reads: “The second Maccabiah 1935, under the gracious sponsorship of his excellence the High Commissioner in Israel, Lt. General Sir Arthur Wauchope.” This is followed by a list of presidents and managers of the Maccabiah, both British and Jewish.
Letters bearing the logo and including official inscriptions from the early Maccabiah games are rare!
Very good condition. Filing holes and small tears created by them.
